Houston Rodeo Cook-off 2014

My husband and I have not been to the Houston Rodeo Cook-Off in many, many years. So I sent out all alerts to all my family asking for tickets to this wonderful event and my co-worker came through.

At first I was sorry that I asked, and as the week went on I kept thinking this is not the best idea I have had. But listening to all the people talking it up, I started to get excited and thinking about what I was going to wear. At first I said jeans, boots you know the whole outfit...than reality set in WALKING all night in my boots oh heck no! I go with tennis shoes..boring...says you are an old person...but comfy old person!
Then I remembered my walking sandals,OOOOH they have a bit of a heel and I can go all night perfect

As we entered the metro buses my dear sweet hubby asked, since it's Friday night and we are going out can we count this as our date night? I laughed and said well I guess. And then he followed up with for the month! Lol NO! Nice try!

What a fun time we had, seeing people that we have not seen in a long time and walking and looking at the different booths listening to all the music. We found our tent and got to eat some fabulous bbq and lots of beer!  We decided to take a stroll through the different streets and we came upon a few of our kids! We wondered around with them for a few hours and got more booth entries.

As the night started to end for us we started back towards our ride and oh my...the sea of people!!!
I'm glad we left when we did Nd my feet hurt! Good night cook-off til we met again!

What a Year!

What a year! I can't believe it is almost March! The days have flown by!! So much has happened and I would like to take this moment and thank God for all the blessings He has bestowed on us!

This past year I started a hobby call Treasures of a Heart.  I love, love, love crafting! I want to spread the wreaths around the world! What a Great way to welcome someone into your home or space. I noticed when my neighbors are walking by they always stop and tell me they enjoy seeing a different wreath each month.
Our door says Welcome Friends!

This past year I joined the Pink Ladies of Mary Kay! Yes, I did! This group is so inspiring and so many new and beautiful ladies!  I was a Mary Kay customer for so long and than my consultant quit on me without any notice! Uggg...so now many years later I was invited to a Mary Kay party and afterwards I saw a great opportunity to help enrich and help other women feel and look bmeautiful.

Lunch With Friends

Seeing old friends is always great fun; especially when you are having lunch in the Heights! I grew up in the Montrose area some time ago and remember it being filled with quaint homes and big old oak trees.
Saturday was just a crisp and beautiful day to be in the Heights along with everyone else!  The streets were full of busy shoppers and not a place to park!
We met at Shades and enjoyed our meal with lots of catch up talk and tons of laughs! Before we knew it we were the only ones left in the restaurant and realized we needed to hurry to do a little shopping. When I walked out, this busy little street was almost cleared out, I knew we were not going to get to do too much shopping. The shop we wanted to go visit had already closed.

Standing in front looking through the windows we decided to try again another time. As I was walking back to my car i looked at the houses and thought how wonderful it would be to live here again.

Heart Full Of Love

Today is a very exciting day for me, I made this name official! I am so bless to have a great family who encourages the best of you!

I have some amazing daughters.. Each one has something different to offer at any given time. If someone has an idea they all jump on the wagon to give their ideas or helping hand. I cherish these young ladies and love them with all my heart!

Surprises

It's always great to receive something fun in the mail instead of just bills. My mother use to say, "getting fun mail makes your day"!

A few weeks ago my cousin and I went to visit my brother and sister in law in New Hampshire. We had planned to help him with a food truck festival in Cape Cod. What a beautiful time of the year! Being from Texas we don't see leaves change or the beautiful colors of fall. We had such a fun time!

We enjoyed great bbq, did a little shopping and enjoyed some pumpkin martinis. Our visit was too short as always and I'm already planning for our next visit.

I got home and decided to send her something fun to open, because she really is a

New Beginnings

On Thursday I will be celebrating a new beginning for a special co-worker. She was one of the first people I met when I started my job 12 years ago. Mary is a strong and lively lady to say the least, she has this way of making you feel special. She has had many long roads herself and is a survivor of breast cancer.

Mary will be working at Virtual Priority Services a new business she recently started. She already has a few companies signed on, and I know she will be great!

Farewell my friend! I feel very honored to have worked with you these past years and wish you all the best in your new business!
